Our farm focuses on breeding Ermine Ameraucana chickens.
This was our first and last addition to the breeding program. We fell in love not only with the unique color of the breed but also with the breathtaking light sky-blue color of their eggs. When we saw their eggs surrounded by light brown and white ones, it was simply mesmerizing.
The challenge with this breed is that, due to its popularity, many people have started mixing breeds to produce blue, olive, or green eggs, which compromises the purity of the strain. After much deliberation, we decided to acquire and incubate our first Ermine Ameraucanas.
These extremely cute, bearded “monsters” were so confident that we initially thought we had gotten all roosters. To our surprise, they all turned out to be stunningly beautiful hens! With their sweet temperament and docile nature, they make a wonderful addition to any flock—not to mention their gorgeous egg colors.
